Helena Garcia is a billionaire heiress poised to inherit her family business and a newly graduated legal intern. During a family trip, she is betrayed by Catherine, her close friend who is actually her stepmother, and Maxim, her former fiancé. Catherine and Maxim have been sleeping together for years. Together, they shoot Helena's father, seize the Garcia fortune, and sell Helena at a dark-web underground auction to be humiliated and abused. At her lowest point, a mysterious man buys her for an astronomical price. He appears to be Tomas, a broke bodyguard at the Sao Paulo Hotel, but he is actually the Godfather who controls the Latin American underworld. Helena once saved a wounded Tomas by chance during Rio Carnival. Now he uses his "bodyguard" identity to take her to safety, pretends to be an ordinary man, and stays with her in a run-down apartment. Catherine joins forces with Tomas's enemy, Hugo Germain, and their schemes slowly expose Tomas's real identity. Trapped between lies, power, danger, and genuine love, Helena must decide whether their relationship can survive.
