Orphaned hunter Ella slips into an ancient castle to find her missing boyfriend — and accidentally wakes Kane, a primordial vampire who's slept for a thousand years. He blackmails her with the one life she cares about, binding her to a blood thrall contract. But as his vampiric hold tightens, Ella uncovers a truth that shatters everything: the Hunter's Guild she idolized is built on lies — her boyfriend was using her as bait, and the Guild Master murdered her parents. When her world collapses, Kane rips out his own cursed heart to shield her, carving a path through their enemies in blood. In that desperate hour, Ella's dormant primordial blood ignites. She ends the traitor and the hypocrite with her own hands, then rebuilds Kane's heart from the pieces. From thrall to sovereign, Ella rises as a half-vampire queen who bends the ancient Kane to her will — and together, they claim the Kingdom of Night.
