Seventeen-year-old freckled redhead Cordelia has long crushed on swim team star Jax, until he and popular girl Chloe humiliate her at a pool party. Heartbroken, she curses him to turn into a dog with her grandma’s dog-bone pendant — and the curse sticks. Jax becomes a German Shepherd named Zeus every night to be Cordelia’s pet, while going back to his human bully self by day. To break the curse, he must gain Cordelia’s genuine approval in 30 days, or stay a dog forever. Growing close day and night, Jax falls for Cordelia’s goodness, and she figures out his secret. Through Chloe’s sabotage, clashes with Julian and a deadly danger, they find true love. The curse lifts, Chloe gets punished, and Jax kisses cheerleader Cordelia on stage after his swim victory, sealing their “master and secret pet” romance.
