Reborn at eighteen, scientific prodigy Carmen Sharp rushed into a blind date to escape the tragedy of her past life, when she had been deceived into marriage and had her research stolen. But in a twist of fate, she accidentally married Erick Tyler, a soldier stationed on a remote island, and followed him there after their wedding. As they grew closer, Erick struggled between the constraints of their marriage agreement and his growing feelings for Carmen. Through misunderstandings, jealousy, and cautious tests of each other's feelings, their affection gradually deepened. When the truth behind the mix-up that had caused Carmen to sit at the wrong table on their blind date was finally revealed, their marriage of convenience turned into a genuine partnership. Carmen eventually became deputy director of a research institute, while she and Erick remained devoted to each other.
